![]() ![]() The Voyage, a traditional wooded coaster has been named “Best Wooden Roller Coaster” from 2007-2011 by Amusement Today. The park has plenty of coasters and two of its best are in the Thanksgiving area. There’s no way to not enjoy the thrill rides if you’re an adrenaline junkie. Her fave ride was the Halloswings in the Halloween-themed area of the park. True, she does have a soft spot for the nostalgia that theme parks offer, but even without that, she loved those classic rides. Here’s what surprised me about visiting with my teen the most: she wanted to ride the old school-style rides first! Think carnival rides with a much safer feel, add in theme park standards like old-fashioned cars and Tilt-a-Whirl, and then offer holiday theming? She was in theme park heaven. That’s refreshing, if the free fountain beverages wasn’t refreshing enough. Parking – You’ll never pay a parking fee when visiting HW and SS. You can visit the stations as many times as you’d like during your visit and there’s plenty of non-soda options including water, peach tea, and electrolyte replacement beverages. Sunscreen – There are sunscreen stations all over both the theme park and waterpark to make sure teens, kids, and their parents avoid harmful rays.įountain Drinks – My mind was seriously blown when I learned that there’s a ton of spots called “Pepsi Oasis” in HW and SS. And, while we like to budget for all of these when we visit theme parks, it’s a great way to save some cash. In all of my theme park travels I’ve never seen this many freebies at one park. At the time this post as published, purchasing a second day admission is only $30. Each ticket comes with the ability to enjoy both parks each day and a great bounce back offer. Catch this before you leave.I, personally, loved the fact that we could enjoy Holiday World and then hit Splashin’ Safari in the heat of the afternoon if we wanted. The Raven in the back seat at night should NOT be missed. The coasters run better later in the day, and shouldn't be missed at night. Kringles Cafe sells pizza which is usually pretty tasty. Plymouth Rock Cafe gets a lot of recommendations, but I've never ate there. Liberty Launch is awesome, and the traditional flat rides have a really nice touch to them (the Chairswings in the Halloween section are fun!). One day is plenty of time to do everything at Holiday World, and I recommend trying EVERYTHING. My advice would be to get the wet side of the park taken care of early, but it could be pretty inconvenient to walk around smelling like chlorine all day. The dry side is crowded for a couple hours after opening and a couple hours well into the afternoon (as the evening guests arrive). Holiday World is the smaller park, so crowds don't matter as much.Īt Holiday World, Splashin' Safari is usually packed from lunchtime to the end of the day. Tackle Kings Island on Monday and Holiday World on Sunday. I hope this helps you out a little, have fun! Honestly, I could spend a whole day in the waterpark. The Bahari Wave Pool and Lazy River are also nice places to go to cool off. Rides to not miss in here are: Mammoth (which I have yet to ride, unfortunately.), Wildebeest, Pilgrims Plunge, Jungle Racers, Zinga, ZOOMbabwe, and Bakuli. In my opinion, Splashin' Safari is a great part of the park to visit even if your not normally a waterpark lover. Some of these aren't the most "thrilling" but I always enjoy them. The Scrambler, Raging Rapids, Revolution, Gobbler Getaway, and the HallowSwings are all rides I never miss. It packs a good punch for its size, as others have said. But for the flats, you cannot miss the Liberty Launch. With the Voyage running much much smoother after all of the trackwork this season, it takes the top spot. ![]() Now ride wise, obviously the coasters take the cake. And for dessert, Udderly Blue's ice cream is fantastic. Of course with free drinks, its a good deal IMO. If memory serves me right, you can get a combo with a slice of pizza, fries, and a small pack of Oreo cookies for $6. I don't know what it is, but everytime I go I CRAVE it. As for food, I highly recommend pizza at Kringles Kafe in the Christmas section.
